Edwina Turner
My name is Edwina Tuner-Duff. I would like to introduce myself to you. I am 55 years old and a recovering addict. My life has been a miracle and I think that sharing with others will help them as well as continue to help me. I have eight children of which five are biological and three are stepchildren. I have eleven grandchildren. My drug of choice was crack cocaine although alcohol played a significant part in my addiction. I have been married twice and drugs played a part in my first marriage and recovery played a part in my second. I walked the streets during much of my addiction and as you can tell, being homeless was a part of my life. I begged for food and ate out of the garbage many days. After my recovery, I started going back to school. I accomplished getting two associate degrees. I have an Associate Degree in Human Services/ Mental Health, and an Associate Degree in Human Services/Substance Abuse. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/ Children and Family Welfare and a Master Degree in Criminal Justice. During my internship, I worked in a homeless shelter which became my passion. I could identify with that population of individuals because that was a part of my life during my addiction. This is why The Apple of His Eye Apostolic Ministries fits my life so well, because of the outreach program that they support. I feel that I can
help others with the story of my life. I hope to hear from many and work with many and help individuals become successful members of society in their life.
